Russell Brand returns to British radio
Will host new Saturday night show on TalkSportLONDON -- Professional bad-boy Russell Brand is to return to British airwaves for the first time since his disastrous departure from the BBC two years ago.
Brand is to host a new Saturday night show on national commercial radio network TalkSport, which will feature guests including his fellow "Sachsgate" instigator Jonathan Ross as well as musician Noel Gallagher.
The deal between Brand and Talksport was brokered by Brand's former BBC.
Radio 2 boss Leslie Douglas, who is now programming head of Universal Music U.K.
Douglas and Brand both left the BBC after the radio station broadcast a skit of Brand and Ross leaving a series of obscene phone messages on the voicemail of "Faulty Towers" actor Andrew Sachs.
Ross, who left the BBC last year, was suspended for 12 weeks.
In a recent interview Brand revealed that Ross had twice tried to persuade him to drop the sexually-explicit messages.
"I said I thought they were funny so we decided to leave them in," said Brand.
