Russell Peters, Faizon Love to Headline Stoner Comedy 'Ripped'

Brad Epstein will direct the feature for Pelican Point Media.

Stand-up comics Russell Peters and Faizon Love are joining forces to star in a stoner buddy comedy called Ripped, which Brad Epstein is directing from an original screenplay he wrote with Billiam Coronel.

Peters, repped by WME, has appeared on Last Comic Standing, in the movie Chef and is the in the middle of his “Almost Famous World Tour.” Love, repped by Innovative Artists, has had roles in Elf, Couples Retreat and Zookeeper. The cast also will include Alex Meneses, featured in NBC’s Hot & Bothered.

Pelican Point Media has worldwide rights to finance, produce and distribute the film, which will be produced by Ike Suri, Brad Epstein and Javier Chapa. Epstein’s producing credits include Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Dan in Real Life and About A Boy. Suri, co-founder and co-CEO of Pelican Point, recently co-financed and exec produced Cabin Fever: Reboot with Eli Roth and Cassian Elwes, Daughter Of God with Keanu Reeves and Elwes, and the upcoming The Brits Are Coming, starring Uma Thurman.
