British Journalist Says Ryan Gosling Saved Her From Being Hit By Taxi
UPDATED: The actor is said to have intervened when a young woman nearly stepped into oncoming New York City traffic on Tuesday.
Ryan Gosling is in the news once again for being a Good Samaritan.
British journalist Laurie Penny, who writes for New Statesman, Independent, Guardia, Al-Jazeera, The Nation and others, claims to have been saved from an oncoming New York City taxi on Tuesday when Gosling intervened.
“I literally, LITERALLY just got saved from a car by Ryan Gosling,” she tweeted. “Literally. That actually just happened.”

“He did not say ‘hey, girl,’ ” she added. “He said ‘hey, watch out!’ ”
A rep for Gosling did not immediately return The Hollywood Reporter’s request for comment, but the claim comes less than one year after video surfaced of the actor breaking up a street fight in New York City. Gosling later admitted that he was “embarrassed” by the whole ordeal.
“It was sad, because it turns out that I said to the guy, 'Why are you doing this?' He said, 'Well, he tried to steal my painting,'" Gosling told MTV. "I said, 'How do you know?' and he said, 'Well, he comes here every day and looks at my paintings,' which means the guy was a fan, and so he wanted the painting so bad he had to steal it because he couldn't afford it. So he finally steals the painting, and then he's getting his ass kicked by his hero, and then the guy from The Notebook shows up and makes it weirder."
While there is no video or photographic evidence of his latest good deed, Gosling’s identity was confirmed to Penny by a nearby witness, who reportedy said: “You lucky bitch.”
