Ryan Lochte Reveals Acting Ambitions Following '90210' Gig
The 11-time Olympic medalist spoke to THR at WWE's kick off party at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday night.
Olympic gold medalist and media darling Ryan Lochte is ready for his close-up -- despite a case of nerves before his first acting gig.
Lochte is set for a guest appearance on the CW's 90210 in October, and admitted he was "nervous" stepping in front of the camera.
“But I had a lot of fun," Lochte told The Hollywood Reporter at the WWE's SummerSlam party on Thursday night, adding that the cast was supportive. “All of the cast members really helped me out, walked me through and I just tried to be myself and act,” he said.
Lochte said getting the call for the cameo was unexpected, but that he hopes to land more television gigs. In fact, his agent told THR that the swimming star is juggling mutiple reality TV offers.
But there's a caveat. “If it doesn’t interfere with my swimming, I want to keep acting,” he said.
Lochte said his acting ambition, however, is a show that may come to the big screen -- HBO's Entourage. “I mean I love that show, so hopefully I could do that,” he said.
The party capped a day that included Lochte taping a segment for E!'s Fashion Police with Joan Rivers.
WWE's SummerSlam takes place Sunday at the Staples Center.
