Ryan Reynolds Named CinemaCon Male Star of the Year

The "Green Lantern" actor will accept prize at convention's closing ceremony March 31 in Las Vegas.

Ryan Reynolds will receive the CinemaCon Male Star of the Year award on March 31 in Las Vegas.

"Ryan Reynolds is one of Hollywood's most sought after leading men, who has entertained audiences with his charmingly comedic onscreen presence. Starring in the title role of the upcoming action adventure Green Lantern, Ryan is sure to gain a whole new legion of fans," said CinemaCon managing director Mitch Neuhauser.

Green Lantern will be released June 17. Following that, Reynolds stars opposite Jason Bateman and Olivia Wilde in the body-switching comedy The Change-Up. He is currently filming the action thriller Safe House with Denzel Washington. His previous credits include Adventureland, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Buried.

CinemaCon is a convention for motion picture theater industry professionals and takes place March 28-31 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
