Ryan Reynolds Sci-Fi Thriller 'Life' to Close SXSW
As previously announced, Terrence Malick's 'Song to Song' will open the fest.
The world premiere of Life will close out this year's SXSW film festival.
Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal and Rebecca Ferguson star in the sci-fi thriller as a team of scientists aboard the International Space Station who discover what caused extinction on Mars and now threatens all life on Earth.
Hiroyuki Sanada, Ariyon Bakare and Olga Dihovichnaya also star in the feature from director Daniel Espinosa.
The Columbia Pictures and Skydance production has a theatrical release of March 24, 2017.
Several late additions titles have been added to the lineup, including the world premiere of David Leitch's MI6 spy movie Atomic Blonde (originally titled The Coldest City) that stars an ensemble cast that is lead by Charlize Theron.
As previously announced, the Austin-based fest will open with Terrence Malick's latest, Song to Song. Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver, from TriStar Pictures and MRC, will show the first Saturday of the fest. Ben Wheatley’s Free Fire also will screen.
SXSW runs March 10-19.
