SAG Members Ratify Basic Cable Live-Action Agreement With 96% of Vote

The new pact, which goes into effect July 1, provides a 6 percent increase for members over the course of the contract and a 10 percent increase in pension and health.

In national voting completed Tuesday, SAG members approved a new, three-year contract covering basic cable live-action programming.

The new pact goes into effect July 1 and runs through June 30, 2014.

SAG and Basic Cable Live Action Television Producers reached tentative agreement in November on the deal, which provides a 6 percent increase for members over the course of the contract and a 10 percent increase in pension and health, which is in keeping with the TV/Theatrical Contract ratified in January.

Overall, the membership of SAG voted 96 percent to 4 percent in favor of the new agreement. The vote count in Hollywood was 94 percent to 6 percent in favor. In New York, the vote count was 97 percent to 3 percent in favor. And in the regional branches, the vote count was 97 percent to 3 percent in favor.

Ballots were mailed to 98,704 SAG members; 25 percent were returned.
