He will play U.S. attorney General Harlan F. Stone.
SAG President Ken Howard has booked a role in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar, being made by Warner Bros. At the same time, Howard will recur on NBC’s 30 Rock.
J. Edgar sees Leonardo DiCaprio as FBI director J. Edgar Hoover, the man who built the organization into a force to be reckoned with while at the same time using his power against those he considered his enemies. The movie, being produced by Malpaso and Imagine, is due to start shooting February.
Dustin Lance Black wrote the script.
Howard will play U.S. attorney General Harlan F. Stone.
His role in 30 Rock is being kept under wraps, but Howard will be appearing in two episodes.
Howard took office as SAG president in September 2009, just after winning an Emmy for his role Phelan Beale in HBO's Grey Gardens. He recently guest starred in the premiere episode of USA Network's Fairly Legal.
Howard is repped by Greene & Associates.
