Samantha Bee Asks Bernie Sanders Supporters Why GOP Would Work With "Socialist Jew"
Samantha Bee jokingly tells the panel that Sanders' pick for vice president is Elizabeth Warren.
On Monday's Full Frontal, Samantha Bee put together an "impossibly diverse panel" of Bernie Sanders supporters to try to understand their incessant optimism. She wanted to challenge her belief that all Sanders supporters were "naive kids who believe in wizards and unicorns."
First she played a word-association game with the group, asking what they think of Hillary Clinton. "Dishonest," "inauthentic," "uninspiring" and "Wall Street" were the results.
"Do you think she’s too much in the pocket of big, realistic expectations?” Bee said, “Deep down in the pocket," the supporter agreed.
After pranking the panel by saying Elizabeth Warren was recently announced as Sanders' running mate, Bee moved on to asking them why they think Sanders will get more revolutionary change done than President Obama did in his first days in office.
She asked if they thought Republicans would suddenly say, "Hey you know what? I like what this socialist Jew's got going on?“
The supporters said Sander has a movement that will keep the pressure on Congress to support him.
"So are you literally saying right now, that the difference between Obama and Bernie Sanders is that the people of America are going to continue to be motivated within the political process, and they’re going to keep putting pressure on our elected leaders to make change?” asked Bee incredulously. "Yes," agreed everyone in the group enthusiastically.
“Have you met people?” responded Bee.
