The film had a strong world premiere at the Spanish festival

Oscar-winning director Bille August’s Silent Heart has sold to Spain, Brazil and Korea, following its world premiere at the 62nd San Sebastian International Film Festival’s Official Selection.

Golem (Spain) and California Filmes (Brazil) picked up the two-time Palme d’Or winner’s family drama about euthanasia, while Jin Jin took rights for Korea. Earlier in the year, presales were made to Benelux (Wild Bunch), Taiwan (Atom), Hungary (Cirko) and Australia (Madman). Level K, which handles international sales, said more territories are currently in negotiation.

Produced by Jesper Morthorst for SF Film Production and supported by The Danish Film Institute, SF Film A/S, TV2 Danmark and FilmFyn, the film stars Ghita Norby, Paprika Steen, Pilou Asbaek and this year’s Berlinale Shooting Star Danica Curcic.
