Sandra Oh heads 'thorne: scaredy cat' cast
Police thriller to premiere on Sky 1 HD in the fall
LONDON -- "Grey's Anatomy" star Sandra Oh will head the cast in Sky 1's fall police thriller "thorne: scaredy cat," alongside David Morrissey, Eddie Marsan and Aidan Gillen. The project will premiere on Sky and then seek international theatrical release.
Oh will play Detective Sergeant Sandra Chen, part of a London cop squad investigating a grisly series of murders that take place around London's St Pancras station.
The three-part drama is a sequel to "thorne: sleepyhead," which also starred Natascha McElhone. Both will premiere on Sky 1 HD in the fall and will then be released as two separate movies, to be distributed by ContentFilm.
Based on the award-winning crime novels of Mark Billingham, the series sees Morrissey play Detective Inspector Tom Thorne.
Both films are produced by Jolyon Symonds for Stagereel, the indie producer he jointly set up with Paul and Morrissey. It is a co-production with Canadian producer Cite-Amerique.

The drama was commissioned by Sky 1 commissioning editor Huw Kennair Jones, and is the latest in a series of glossy high-budget 3D dramas including "Strike Back," Terry Pratchett's Discworld adaptation "Going Postal" and Martina Cole's "The Take" that underlined Sky's emerging role as a major producer of British drama.
