NEW YORK - Comedy producer and distributor Rooftop Comedy has named Sandy Grushow, former chairman of Fox Television Entertainment Group, to its board of advisors.

He will advise Rooftop Comedy on branded entertainment, original programming and business development initiatives. He joins advisors Andy Beers, former founding director of MSN Video, and Stuart Bonn, former senior vp of video game maker Electronic Arts.

“The TV industry is literally starving for the next hit situation comedy, and through its unique approach and unprecedented reach, Rooftop Comedy is well positioned to help discover the kind of singular talent and point of view that such shows have historically been built around,” said Grushow. “If anyone's capable of systematically canvassing the world in order to identify the next Jerry Seinfeld or Ray Romano, it's Rooftop Comedy."
Said Will Rogers, founder and CEO of Rooftop Comedy about Grushow: "His depth of knowledge and years of experience will be invaluable to us, especially at this time of significant growth and expansion."

Rooftop Comedy records live comedy performances from a network of comedy clubs in North America, Europe and Australia. It also distributes comedy content to mobile, online, broadcast and print outlets, including Apple iTunes, YouTube, Yahoo, Hulu, Current TV, Nokia, FastCompany Magazine and TiVO. Rooftop Comedy also produces the annual Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival, whose 2009 edition just wrapped.
