Katy Perry's Jeweler Designed This Year's Santa Barbara Film Fest Awards
For the fourth year in a row, Santa Barbara-area jeweler Daniel Gibbings made the international film festival's highest honors.
For the fourth year in a row, the Santa Barbara International Film Festival is honoring its recipients with customized awards by Montecito, Calif.-based fine jeweler Daniel Gibbings.
The fest, which kicks off Jan. 30 and runs through Feb. 9, will honor some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Blue Jasmine's Cate Blanchett, Oprah Winfrey, American Hustle director David O. Russell, Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio, among many others.
The award, crafted with metal and 24-karat gold with a custom marble base, required more than five months of sculpting, modifying and finalizing. The new design features the iconic steeple of Santa Barbara's historic Arlington Theatre, where the stars will be honored in a ceremony Feb. 7.
"We wanted to create an award that is not only quintessential to Santa Barbara’s beautiful culture and performing arts, but also one that embodies the passion and creativity we use in creating our unique jewelry designs," said Setenay Ozdemir-Osman, CEO and creative director of Daniel Gibbings, in a statement.
Gibbings -- whose clients include Katy Perry, Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams -- has been the fest's exclusive award designer and sponsor since 2010.
