Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry Tie the Knot
"The Talk" co-host and the Grammy-nominated songwriter marry after yearlong engagement.
They’re so “Beautiful" together.
Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry, engaged about a year ago, were married yesterday in front of close friends and family.
Gilbert’s The Talk co-host Aisha Tyler made the announcement on the CBS show this morning, calling it “the most beautiful ceremony at sunset overlooking the ocean.”
Grammy-nominated songwriter Perry popped the question at a Los Angeles park last April. According to Gilbert, the 48-year-old Perry planned the romantic proposal with a guitar player and brass band she put together for the event, asking for her hand to the tune of one of their favorite numbers, The Cure’s “Lovesong.”
Perry donned a series of T-shirts with one word apiece, which formed the question, “Will You Marry Me?”
Gilbert, 39, opened up about the engagement on her TV show: “I happened to be talking about gay marriage, but that was before I had any idea about any of this. I’m super-shy and don’t usually want to reveal anything.”
Gilbert has two kids, son Levi, 9, and daughter Sawyer, 6, with former girlfriend Alison Adler.
Gilbert starred as the daughter of Roseanne Barr and John Goodman on the hit TV show Roseanne, while Perry, who began as the lead singer in the group Four Non-Blondes, went on to become a hit songwriter for the likes of Christina Aguilera (“Beautiful”), Pink (“Get the Party Started”) and Gwen Stefani (“What You Waiting For?”) as well as contributing to albums by Jewel, Alicia Keys, Celine Dion, Robbie Williams, Melissa Etheridge, Gavin Rossdale, Lisa Marie Presley, Enrique Iglesias, Courtney Love and Kelly Osbourne. She also signed James Blunt to a recording deal with her Atlantic-distributed Custard Records.
