But another star -- Sarah Jessica Parker – made a significant appearance in a commercial break during the awards show. The actress was featured in a national TV ad for Barack Obama’s reelection campaign.
“The guy who ended the war in Iraq, the guy who says you should be able to marry anyone you want, the guy who created 4 million new jobs. That guy — President Obama — and his wife Michelle are coming to my house for dinner on June 14,” the actress says to the camera.
Parker goes on to encourage viewers to go online for a chance to win tickets to the June 14 fundraising event at her Manhattan home.

“You have to go to JoinObama.com for a chance to win and the contest ends tomorrow night. So go right here right now because we need him and he needs us,” she says.
On Friday, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who will be co-hosting the event with Parker, was featured in an online video urging the president’s supporters to take part in the online contest to win a pair of tickets to the event.
“It will be a fantastic evening and you can join us,” Wintour says in the video. “We’re saving the two best seats in the house for you … Sarah Jessica and I both have our own reasons for supporting President Obama and we want to hear yours, so please join us.”
