Sarah Palin's 'The Undefeated' Adding New Theaters on Friday
"Our objective is very simple: to bring this film to every market and every corner of the country," Steve Bannon says of his controversial documentary.
The Undefeated, Steven Bannon’s documentary about Sarah Palin, is picking up more theaters as it enters its second weekend of release.
The pro-Palin doc collected $65,132 in the 10 theaters in which it debuted July 15 for a per-screen average of $6,513. But distributor Arc Entertainment said that the movie enjoyed a stronger-than-excepted debut in Phoenix and Orange Country, Calif., where the per-screen averages ran above $11,000. This Friday, the film will open in additional AMC Theatres in Tucson, Ariz., West Palm Beach, Fla., Milwaukee, Wis., Charlotte, N.C., and Ontario, Calif. The film will also expand into additional theaters in Atlanta and Phoenix while continuing to play in Dallas and Houston, Denver, Orlando, Fla., and Orange, Calif.
"Given the audience response on our opening weekend, we now know we have a film that works. Our objective is very simple: to bring this film to every market and every corner of the country; starting with a limited theatrical release and then through an aggressive broader distribution strategy including streaming video, on-demand access and DVD,” Bannon said.
Written and directed by Bannon and produced by Victory Film Group co-founder Glenn Bracken Evans and Dan Fleuette, The Undefeated was independently financed by Victory Film Group and its partners.
