Sarah Silverman's Controversial Abortion Photos Bring Attention to Mitt Romney Statements
The fake pictures have caused some backlash, but they have also created awareness as to the Republican presidential candidate's intentions for Roe V. Wade.
Comedian and TV star Sarah Silverman may have known exactly what she was doing when she tweeted fake photos of herself before and after having an abortion.

“Got a quickie aborsh in case R v W gets overturned,” she writes on whosay.com along with photos (which her rep has confirmed as being a joke) showing her with a distended belly along with boyfriend, Family Guy writer Alec Sulkin, next to one of her normal-sized stomach.
The photos have definitely got the attention of her followers and some conservative media railed about its poor taste. Though, famously pro-choice Silverman could pretty much have predicted that would happen.
Silverman has made comic gestures to abortion before with a segment on her now-canceled The Sarah Silverman Program in which she recounted three previous abortions via a montage with Green Day’s “Time of Your Life” as the soundtrack.

In the press about the photos, the gag has brought attention to the presumptive Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's intentions to overturn the 1973 case that made abortion legal, Roe V. Wade.
“Today marks the 39th anniversary of one of the darkest moments in Supreme Court history, when the court in Roe v. Wade claimed authority over the fundamental question regarding the rights of the unborn,” Romney said in a statement on the case's anniversary in January. “Today, we recommit ourselves to reversing that decision, for in the quiet of conscience, people of both political parties know that more than a million abortions a year cannot be squared with the good heart of America.”
