Scandi TV outfits form Northern Alliance
Becomes Scandinavia's fourth-largest production outfitCOLOGNE, Germany – Private equity group CapMan is set to merge its three Scandinavian TV production companies -- Denmark's Gong, Monster in Norway and Finland's Moskito to form the Northern Alliance Group. CapMan is closing the final link in the Scandinavian chain with the recent acquisition of Swedish producer Baluba.
Management of the individual production houses, including Baluba chief executive Peter Settman, will control a 32% stake in the new Northern Alliance Group.
With some 60 series in production across all genres and estimated annual sales of nearly $80 million, the Northern Alliance Group will be Scandinavia's fourth-largest production operation after Nordisk, Shine-owned Metronome and Zodiak Entertainment.
