Rob Schneider is in talks to join frequent collaborator Adam Sandler in Columbia Pictures' "You Don't Mess With the Zohan."

Penned by Judd Apatow, Robert Smigel and Sandler, the story centers on a Mossad agent (Sandler) who fakes his death so he can move to New York and become a hair stylist. Schneider's character is described as an East Yistannen cab driver.

Shooting will begin in the summer in Los Angeles and New York for a summer 2008 release.

Sandler's Happy Madison is producing through its Sony-based shingle.

Schneider, whose recent credits include Sony/Happy Madison's "The Benchwarmers," is in postproduction on his feature directorial debut, "Big Stan."

He is repped by CAA, manager John Schneider and attorneys Howard Fishman and Bob Wallerstein.
