Screen Media to Release Competitive Irish Dancing Doc ‘Jig’
Sue Bourne’s film, out June 17, follows nine dancers as they compete for the championships.
Screen Media has acquired North American rights to Sue Bourne’s Jig, a documentary about the world of competitive Irish Dancing.
The film, which follows nine dancers at the Irish Dancing World Championships, will released theatrically in select cities on June 17.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to be involved with this most charming, endearing and inspirational documentary shedding light on the passion, dedication and commitment of the dancers and the families in the Irish Dance community,” Screen Media Films president Robert Baruc said.
The deal was negotiated by Bankside Films’ Stephen Kelliher on behalf of the filmmakers and Screen Media’s Baruc and Suzanne Blech.
