Sean Bean, Sharlto Copley to Voice Russian Animated Film
'Snow Queen: Journey Continues' is slated for a global release in early 2015
Sean Bean, Sharlto Copley, Bella Thorne and Isabelle Fuhrman will do voiceover work for the English-language version of the upcoming Russian animated film Snow Queen: Journey Continues, produced by Timur Bekmambetov's Bazelevs.
"Snow Queen was originally conceived as an international project with matching top-notch animation quality," Bekmambetov said. "Just like Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale, which was the starting point for our film, its plot is universal and will be understandable to audiences in different countries."
Directed by Alexei Tsitsilin, Journey Continues comes as a sequel to Snow Queen, released in more than 30 countries since its 2012 Russian release.
"We are sure that work with such stars as Bean, Copley, Thorne and Fuhrman will strengthen the franchise's international potential, making the sequel attractive for viewers all over the world," said producer Yuri Moskvin.
Snow Queen: Journey Continues is scheduled for release on Jan. 1, 2015 in Russia, Great Britain, Poland, South Korea, Israel, Malaysia, Thailand and several Middle East countries. It is to be released in China later in 2015, while negotiations for other territories are still in progress.
The first Snow Queen film had a budget of $7 million and grossed $12 million globally, according to Russian movie data base KinoPoisk.
