Sean Penn's 'The Last Face' to Be Produced, Financed by River Road
Javier Bardem and Charlize Theron will star in the Africa-set film about a doctor who is forced to choose between his love for an American relief worker and his dedication to saving lives.
River Road is in negotiations to produce and finance Sean Penn's upcoming directorial effort The Last Face.
Javier Bardem and Charlize Theron will star in the project, which has been floating around for years, once with Robin Wright and Ryan Gosling attached to star.
The drama focuses on a talented and charismatic doctor (Bardem) who is forced to choose between his love for an American relief worker (Theron) and his dedication to saving lives in war-torn African nations.
Back in the mid-2000s, Inferno Entertainment and Lola Films was on board the project, which had Erin Dignam in the director's chair.
Penn is looking to begin shooting in Africa in July.
