'Secret Millionaire' Producer Tapped to Run Reality and Digital Video at BermanBraun
After 20 years on his own, Chris Cowan will oversee unscripted projects as well as video development and production for the company’s digital unit, including the building of an in-house video studio.
Chris Cowan has been tapped to lead unscripted TV and video for Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun’s BermanBraun.
As part of his new role, the former Rocket Science Laboratories and Angel City Factory principal, whose credits include Joe Millionaire, My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance and Mobbed, will oversee all video development and production for the company’s digital unit, including the building of an in-house video studio.
“Chris is one of the best story tellers and producers we have ever worked with,” Berman and Braun said in a joint statement. “We are thrilled to have Chris join our company as the leader for all of our company’s unscripted content, regardless of the platform for which it is initially created.”
Added Cowan, “After nearly twenty years of running my own company, it was going to take a pretty unique opportunity for me to join someone else’s team and this was it. The company that Gail and Lloyd have built occupies one of the most forward thinking positions in the content business today.”
Earlier this month, the multi-media company added another TV project to its portfolio with the series pick up of NBC's Infamous. The soapy drama joins Syfy's Alphas and HGTV's Junk Gypsies, along with a growing digital collection, which includes three YouTube channels and such websites as Wonderwall, Glo and Mom.Me.
