Sehring taps Bocco as vp at IFC Ent.
EmptyArianna Bocco is joining IFC Entertainment as vp acquisitions and production, IFC Entertainment president Jonathan Sehring, to whom she'll report, said Monday.
Bocco will be in charge of identifying and pursuing finished feature films that fit the company's new strategy of pumping up its theatrical release slate with bigger, commercial films, while also bringing in other projects that contribute to a diverse slate.
In addition, she will spearhead the acquisition of 24 films a year for the IFC First Take banner, IFC Entertainment's day-and-date division.
Bocco most recently was head of the independent feature packaging division of the Gersh Agency in New York. Before that, she was senior vp acquisitions at Miramax Films, where she was involved in acquiring such films such as "Garden State" and "The Station Agent." She also has held posts at New Line Cinema and Fine Line Features as well as the Steve Tisch Co.
"Arianna is an excellent assessor of quality film with a very impressive background," Sehring said. "She will be instrumental in continuing the company's success as we will look to her to spearhead the company's acquisitions and production initiatives going forward."
