Seth Meyers Mocks Donald Trump's "Bathrobe-Gate"

The host jokingly suggested Chris Christie is collecting photos of Trump wearing bathrobes.

Seth Meyers addressed what he called "bathrobe-gate" on Wednesday's Late Night, referring to comments White House press secretary Sean Spicer made claiming that President Donald Trump doesn't even own a bathrobe after a New York Times story mentioned as an aside that he wears one in the early evenings.

"He doesn't own a bathrobe at all; he just owns suits that fit like a bathrobe," laughed Meyers. He also showed an old photograph of Trump wearing a bathrobe that circulated following Spicer's comments. Anderson Cooper mentioned the picture was from a collection, and Meyers jokingly asked who is collecting these photographs and then showed a picture of Chris Christie.

Newly confirmed education secretary Betsy DeVos was Meyers' next target. The host quoted a Republican who voted for DeVos and then said she was "admitting the education secretary needs to learn how to run public schools on the job."

"That's like saying the new bus driver doesn't technically have a license or any experience behind the wheel, but I can't think of a better place for him to learn then while carting our children down the interstate," Meyers said.

Meyers also spoke about how Democrats need to "have something to offer to Americans who are so desperate for change that they voted for Donald Trump." He said Elizabeth Warren has acknowledged that the Democrats are out of touch with the working class.

"The excuses end now," said Warren. "Elizabeth Warren is like a high school coach giving a halftime speech, but the Democratic party is like the Atlanta Falcons drifting off during the halftime speech and forgetting there's more football to play," Meyers said.
