Seth Rogen, Don Rickles to Headline Just for Laughs Festival
TORONTO – Seth Rogen and wife Lauren Miller are bringing their Hilarity for Charity variety show fundraiser for the National Alzheimer's Association to the Just for Laughs comedy festival in July.
Besides hosting a Just for Laugh gala on July 26, Rogen — whose new film Neighbors, co-starring Rose Byrne and Zac Efron, opens May 9 — will bring his charity event to Montreal to raise money for families struggling with Alzheimer’s care.
Rogen, Andy Samberg, Aziz Ansari and Don Rickles will also headline the 32nd edition of Just for Laughs, a traditional talent-spotting event for Hollywood.
Rickles will return to Montreal to headline big-stage galas on July 23 and 25.
And Brooklyn Nine-Nine star and SNL alum Samberg will emcee his own Place des Arts gala on July 24.
In addition, Canadian comic sensation Russell Peters will host his own galas on July 26 and 27 to close out this year's Coachella of comedy.
JFL organizers, who made their first talent announcements Wednesday, booked Parks and Recreation star Ansari for a return with Modern Romance tour stops on July 16 and 17.
Another Just for Laughs fixture, Lewis Black, will appear on July 23 and 24 at the Place des Arts, while the Maison Symphonique will host a comic performance by Jim Jefferies, star of FXX’s Legit.
And Marc Maron will return to Just for Laughs with his own solo show on July 26.
Elsewhere, club shows will continue as a JFL tradition, with Noel Fielding headlining The Brit-ish Show, and The Nasty Show returning with Bobby Slayton, Ari Shaffir, Kurt Metzger, Derek Seguin and other raunchy comics.
And the Metropolis will house Maz Jobrani, Workaholics’ Erik Griffin, Angelo Tsarouchas, Paul Varghese and others for The Ethnic Show.
