'Sharknado' Trailer: Tara Reid, Ian Ziering Get Pummeled by Flying Sharks (Video)
Syfy's movie stars the duo as ex-spouses dealing with a rather unusual weather condition, to say the least.
Sharknado is about to be unleashed on viewers -- are you ready?
Syfy debuts the movie, starring Ian Ziering (Beverly Hills, 90120) and Tara Reid (American Pie), at 9 p.m. Thursday.
Ahead of its premiere, the network released a hilarious new trailer for the movie, which centers around -- you guessed it -- a tornado filled with sharks. Whatever the reason for the abnormal weather conditions, the sharks begin pummeling Los Angeles and attacking its residents.
In the movie, Reid and Ziering play ex-spouses. He's a bar owner who sets out to save his ex-wife and their kids once the storm hits.
"We can't just wait here and wait for the sharks to rain down on us," Ziering says in the trailer, while one actress flying a helicopter states: "There's too many of them. We're gonna need a bigger chopper."
The action-packed video -- at one point the Santa Monica Pier ferris wheel comes loose as sharks literally fall from the sky, while another scenes shows the Hollywood sign being destroyed -- also is quite humorous, though it's unclear how much of that is intentional.
Leading up to the movie's premiere, Syfy aired a shark-themed marathon including such movies as Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus, Malibu Shark Attack, Sharktopus, Swamp Shark and Super Shark.
