Shaun Robinson is starting a new chapter.

The longtime Access Hollywood correspondent is leaving the entertainment news show and has signed a development deal with NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution, it was announced Wednesday.

The Emmy winner has been with the show since 1999, most recently serving as a correspondent for the daily edition and co-anchor of Access Hollywood Weekend. She is leaving to focus on her development and production endeavors.

“For 16 years Shaun Robinson has been an integral part of the success of Access Hollywood,” said Access Hollywood executive producer Rob Silverstein. “Shaun has a tremendous ability to put stars at ease and always has had a special connection with our viewers. We wish Shaun success and happiness as she moves into this new, exciting phase of her career.”

Through her production company, Robinhood Productions, Inc., Robinson will develop and produce scripted and unscripted television projects across all platforms for NBCU's domestic distribution division.

"It's been an extraordinary 16 years here at Access Hollywood and I am going to miss all my friends here because we are truly like a family. Television has changed so much since I first sat at the anchor desk and it's time to take my career to the next level," said Robinson. "There are so many more opportunities awaiting me, both on-camera and as a producer. I'm extremely excited about creating fun and meaningful content through my production company, RobinHood Productions, Inc., focusing specifically on empowering women and girls about which I am so passionate. I will certainly be back in front of the camera soon and I look forward to announcing my next on-air role in the near future."

Added Linda Finnel, senior vp programming at NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution: “Shaun is a talented journalist with a work ethic that won’t quit. We will definitely miss Shaun at Access Hollywood but we are very happy for her as she enters in to this new chapter.”

Access Hollywood celebrates its 20th anniversary in September.
