Shawn Levy's 21 Laps Closes New Three-Year Deal With Fox
The director-producer's upcoming projects at Fox include "The Internship," "Night at the Museum 3" and "Fantastic Voyage."
Shawn Levy's prolific production company 21 Laps -- whose credits include the Night at the Museum franchise -- has closed a new, overall first-look deal with 20th Century Fox.
"Shawn's boundless energy, ambition and effortless creativity make him the perfect partner," said Fox president of production Emma Watts. "We are lucky he continues to call Fox his home."
Upcoming releases from 21 Laps include the Vince Vaughn-Owen Wilson comedy The Internship, directed by Levy and produced by Levy and Vaughn. Fox opens the movie June 7.
21 Laps also produced The Spectacular Now, which will make its world premiere in competition at the Sundance Film Festival in January. The indie film stars Shailene Woodley, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Miles Teller and Kyle Chandler and was directed by James Ponsoldt.
Spectacular Now doesn't have domestic distribution, though Fox Searchlight would be a natural fit.
Projects from 21 Laps in development at Fox include two that Levy will direct: Fantastic Voyage, which Levy will produce alongside James Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment, and the Ben Stiller-Jonah Hill comedy Project Aloha.
Those that Levy will produce include Night at the Museum 3; Brother From Another Mother, to be directed and written by John Hamburg; Sesame Street; Fancy Nancy, which 21 Laps is producing with Tina Fey; Alone for the Holidays, written by Seth Meyers (Anne Fletcher is attached to direct); and Kodachrome.
21 Laps also announced several promotions. Billy Rosenberg has been upped to senior vp and Dan Cohen has been named vp.
