She & Him to Release New Album
The duo, comprised of Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, will also be touring this summer in support of "Volume 3" (out May 7).
She & Him will release their third album, Volume 3, on May 7 via Merge Records. The duo, composed of Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, will also be touring this summer in support of the release.
Volume 3 includes 11 original tracks penned by Deschanel, as well as three covers, including a rendition of Blondie’s “Sunday Girl.” The album was produced by Ward and recorded in Los Angeles, Portland and New York City. It features guest contributions from NRBQ’s Joey Spampinato, Mike Watt, Tilly and the Wall, Rilo Kiley’s Pierre de Reeder and Devotchka’s Tom Hagerman. The disc will be released in the U.K. and Europe on May 13 via Double Six.

She & Him will kick off their summer tour on June 13 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and will perform at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl on June 23 and New York’s Central Park Summerstage on July 6. Deschanel and Ward have released two prior collections of original tracks, including She & Him’s 2010 effort Volume 2. The pair’s most recent release is 2011’s holiday album A Very She & Him Christmas, which bowed at No. 12 on the Billboard Top 200.
