Sher exits WMA for full-time Seacrest duty

Longtime WMA agent Adam Sher is departing the agency to run client Ryan Seacrest's production company as CEO.

Sher has been with WMA since 1993, most recently as senior vp. Sher, along with WMA chairman and CEO Jim Wiatt and exec vp/ head of nonscripted TV John Ferriter, spearheads the team that represents Seacrest, a client for 8 1/2 years.

At Ryan Seacrest Prods., Sher will oversee all divisions of the company, including TV, radio and new media.

"There isn't a better choice than Adam to continue to build Ryan's powerful brand," Wiatt said. "We look forward to continuing to work with them both."

Sher said Seacrest presented him with an opportunity that he couldn't refuse at a time where the ubiquitous TV and radio host has been expanding his media imprint as well as the company's slate. Its series include E!'s "Denise Richards: It's Complicated" and "Keeping Up With the Kardashians"; MTV's upcoming competition show "Bromance;" and NBC's new "Momma's Boys."

"With everything going on, including the success of the production company, his radio deals and everything else, it created an opportune time for me to go over to help him grow Ryan Seacrest Prods. into a full-service media company," Sher said.

Ferriter expects all of the clients Sher works with to remain with the agency. Sher will stay on for an undetermined amount of time to help with the transition. (partialdiff)
