Sherry Lansing Biography to Be Written by Hollywood Reporter's Stephen Galloway

THR's veteran writer will pen the untitled tome, due in 2016 on Crown Archetype

Pioneering film exec Sherry Lansing finally is getting a biography. With her cooperation, Stephen GallowayTHR's executive editor, features, is writing the untitled tome, due in 2016 on Crown Archetype. Lansing became the first female production chief in 1980 as president of Fox; three years later she left to produce such hits as Fatal Attraction. As Paramount chair from 1992 to 2005, she oversaw Forrest Gump, Braveheart and Titanic.

Since then, she's raised money for cancer research through her foundation. "Sherry Lansing started out as a struggling actress and rose to become the most powerful woman Hollywood has ever known," says Galloway. "She's a groundbreaking figure."
