Shine America has tapped Leslie Belzberg senior vp scripted production.
The film and TV veteran will oversee day-to-day scripted production for the studio, including oversight of FX's upcoming drama The Bridge.
Belzberg most recently produced Scorpion King: Rise of the Dead and was an EP on the feature Crazy Heart, for which Jeff Bridges won a best actor Oscar. On the small screen, she has a long-standing relationship with director John Landis; they co-created TV production company St. Clare Entertainment, which produced HBO's Dream On, USA Network's Weird Science, Fox's Sliders, Disney's Honey I Shrunk the Kids and more. She also worked with Landis on features including Beverly Hills Cop II and Coming to America.
"Leslie's vast experience as a hands-on producer of both TV and film make her the ideal addition to our team as we look to build our scripted series slate,” said Carolyn Bernstein, Shine America exec vp scripted programming.
Added Belzberg: "I am truly grateful to be joining the Shine America team alongside Carolyn and Rich [Ross] as we look to make a concerted push into the scripted-programming arena. We have some very exciting projects ahead, so it's a great time to be joining this accomplished team."
