News Corp.'s Shine Promotes Tim Robinson to COO Post
He will relocated from the TV production firm's Australian operation to London early next year.
LONDON - News Corp. TV production firm Shine Group has promoted Tim Robinson to the role of COO.
He was most recently COO of Shine Australia. He will relocate to London, where he reports to CEO Alex Mahon, in early 2013.
Mahon herself was COO until now-chairman Elisabeth Murdoch, the daughter of News Corp. chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch, elevated her this summer.
Robinson will be responsible for "driving all business development, operational and commercial aspects of the group, which currently stands at 29 companies across 12 countries," Shine said.
Robinson joined Shine in 2008 as business development director. After several roles, he became part of Shine Australia, first as commercial director in 2010. He was then promoted to COO in July of 2011.
“Tim is an outstanding commercial executive with experience in, and an aptitude for, every aspect of Shine’s business," Mahon said. "We are delighted that after a hugely productive two years with Shine Australia that these skills will now be deployed again across the whole group as we move into our next phase of growth."
In another executive move, Chris Fry, Shine's head of finance, operational investment and corporate development will move to Shine Australia as head of business and finance strategy. he will relocate next year.
