Shine, New Regency Pact for Digital Partnership
Under the deal with EMJAG Digital Productions, the companies will provide production financing opportunities for projects across multiple platforms including domestic and international television and theatrical releases.
Shine America has partnered with EMJAG Digital Productions and New Regency to create and distribute digital content.
Under the pact, New Regency executive vp and EMJAG digital principal and CEO Alexandra Milchan, along with EMJAG president Jamie Boscardin Martin will lead the development and production joint venture.
The duo, following a previous joint venture -- Paramount's Circle of Eight that wrapped in 2011 -- will transition their content partnership to Shine America, with New Regency on board to co-produce and co-finance select digital properties through a first-look deal with Shine.
The distribution model will vary based on the individual digital project, which will see projects run on various platforms including as webisodes, VOD and potentially landing domestic and international television and theatrical release.
"Shine Group is always seeking to partner with great content creators, whether in scripted or unscripted television, the digital space and now supporting projects that might otherwise compete in the feature film world,” Shine senior vp and head of digital David Anderson said in a statement announcing the news.
