ABC Studios-based Shondaland is adding to its staff.
Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers' production company has hired a new head of production and vice president of marketing and communications as well as a director of branding and engagement.
Joining the company behind ABC's Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, How to Get Away With Murder, The Catch and Still Star-Crossed are former network PR exec Kristen Andersen, who will serve as vp marketing and communications; Sara Fischer as head of production; and Sandie Bailey as director of branding and engagement.
“Each of these women has truly made a huge impact on the success of our shows over the last several years,” Rhimes said Wednesday in a statement. “As Shondaland continues to expand, I could not be more excited to officially welcome them into the family, where I know they will continue to help invent and invest in our brand.”
Fischer will oversee all five series currently in production and manage production for all development and special projects for the company. She joins Shondaland from ABC Studios, where she managed production of the Shondaland shows.
Andersen will oversee marketing and PR campaigns for the Shondaland brand, including promotion of all series and projects in development as well as managing talent relations and philanthropic initiatives for the company. She joins Shondaland after serving as director of PR for ABC, where she spearheaded launches of Scandal, Murder and The Catch, among others.
Bailey will manage the overall Shondaland brand and oversee media engagement for the company as well as the design, development and execution of all Shondaland merchandise. She previously spent the past five years working in the set decorating department on Scandal. Bailey has more than 20 years of experience managing events and interior decorating for high-end clients.
