Kelly O'Connor to receive Distinguished Service Award

Kelly O'Connor, senior vp exhibitor and marketing services at Warner Bros., will receive the 2009 Al Shapiro Distinguished Service Award at ShowEast 2009.

O'Connor will be feted Oct. 29 during an awards gala set to close the annual exhibition confab. ShowEast opens Oct. 26 at the Orlando World Center Marriott.

"Kelly has risen through the ranks at Warner Bros. and is responsible for creating wonderful relationships between exhibition and Warner Bros.," ShowEast managing director Robert Sunshine said. "She is respected and continues to work for, and support, the industry."

A 20-year Warners veteran, O'Connor helped create and shape its exhibitor-relations department. In her post, she has developed and implemented strategies and oversees coordination between exhibitors and the studio, including placement of trailers and advertising materials for Warners' domestic releases.
