Showtime partners with CBS Consumer Products

Sibling units aim to build licensing business for net's hit shows

NEW YORK -- CBS Corp.'s Showtime Networks has enlisted sister unit CBS Consumer Products as a partner in its licensing business to expand merchandise and live events deals for Showtime hit properties.

The goal is to build the licensing business of such Showtime hits as "Dexter," "Weeds," "Nurse Jackie," "Californication" and "The Tudors."

"We are excited to support Showtime's remarkable slate of programming as we continue to license new opportunities for a diverse and rich library," said Liz Kalodner, executive vp and general manager of CBS Consumer Products.

The partnership will tap into "the strength of the CBS Consumer Products group, which has a proven track record in reaching consumers with new brand experiences," said Laura Palmer, senior vp distributor marketing at Showtime.
