Sidsa thinks small with Polar platform launch
EmptyMADRID -- Spain's Sidsa on Tuesday announced the launch of what it described as the world's smallest and most interactive mobile TV platform, compatible with all high-definition digital video broadcasting devices.
The platform, called Polar Plus, is being tested with a pilot program in Spain's southern Andalucia region and allows for mobile TV broadcast in high-definition format for pay and free customers.
The platform will operate on Russia's first commercial high-definition mobile TV platform, due to launch in that nation's Sverdlovsk region in April with 15 channels.
"Polar Plus fulfills all of the DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) standards and is the most interactive platform in the market," Sidsa said in a statement.
Sidsa, an international provider of digital technology specializing in mobile television, IPTV and digital television, will offer demonstrations of its 24-channel platform at the 3GSM World Congress to be held Feb. 13-15 in Barcelona.
