Sinayi joins Overture
EmptyNEW YORK -- Overture Films has tapped John Sinayi as senior vp theatrical distribution, reporting to Kyle Davies, the company's executive vp national distribution.
Sinayi is veteran of New Line, where he oversaw distribution in a host of regions for the company's tentpoles, including "The Mask" and the "Lord of the Rings" films.
At Overture, he will be instrumental in helping to release its upcoming slate, which includes the Charlize Theron family drama "Sleepwalking" and Tom McCarthy's immigrant tale "The Visitor" in the coming months as well as the Robert De Niro-Al Pacino detective saga "Righteous Kill" and the Emma Thompson-Dustin Hoffman romance "Last Chance Harvey" later in the year.
Overture has been in a hiring mode of late. Earlier this month, the John Malone-financed studio brought on marketing veteran Jackson George as executive vp creative advertising.
