Sinead O'Connor to Marry for Fourth Time on Her Birthday
The singer made the announcement on her official website, calling the upcoming wedding "my absolute dream."
Sinead O'Connor is walking down the aisle for the fourth time on Thursday, but the day will be extra special: It will be her 45th birthday.
The 44-year-old singer made the announcement that she was marrying her boyfriend Wednesday on her official website, writing: "With enormous joy myself and my beloved boyfriend Barry Herridge will be getting married tomorrow, December 8th 2011 at 'an un-disclosed location' in my absolute dream wedding ceremony. We will post a photo or two here on the site as soon as possible afterward."
O'Connor has four children from previous relationships and earlier this year divorced Steve Cooney after being together for under one year.
In August, O'Connor wrote a racy blog entry saying that she was looking for a "sex-starved" man. O'Connor wrote: "My sh-uation sexually/affectionately speaking is so dire that inanimate objects are starting to look good as are inappropriate and/or unavailable men and/or inappropriate and/or unavailable fruits and vegetables. I tell you yams are looking like the winners."
O'Connor was once ordained as a priest in the Irish Orthodox Catholic and Apostolic Church (an independent group not affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church) and came out as a lesbian in 2000. She has since qualified that statement.
O'Connor's most recent album, Home, was released earlier this year.
