Singapore: Children's Series 'Ella Bella Bingo' Sells to Multiple Territories
The popular Singaporean-Norwegian animated series has been licensed to Indonesia, Ireland, Turkey and Taiwan
Singapore-based August Media Holdings announced Wednesday during the Singapore Media Festival’s Asia TV Forum & Market that its popular animated series Ella Bella Bingo has been licensed to multiple territories across Asia and Europe.
Indonesia’s DaiiTV, Ireland’s TG4, Turkey’s Samanyolu TV, and Good TV in Taiwan are among the new homes for the series that is delivered through Singapore’s top channel for kids, Okto. It is co-produced by Norway’s Kool Produktion AS.
The second season of Ella Bella Bingo has already played on several Scandinavian channels including NRK, DR, and SVT and is also carried on Al Jazeera across the Middle East and North Africa. Another 52 episodes of the show are being delivered early next year.
Targeted toward preschool children, Ella Bella Bingo follows the adventures of happy-go-lucky Ella and her friends. Each episode is seven minutes long. It is directed by BAFTA-winning, Emmy-nominated director Ginger Gibbons and is scripted by Sam Barlow.
“We are especially excited as Ella Bella Bingo makes its debut on home turf, Singapore. I can’t wait for the reaction of Singaporean kids to Ella Bella. If views from Singapore on her Facebook page are any indication — which number in several thousand everyday—– I am expecting the show to rate pretty well,” said Jyotirmoy Saha, executive producer of the show and CEO of August Media Holdings.
