Sky Italy Producing 'Monolith' Film Based on Graphic Novel
The movie, part of Sky Italy's additional original content, is set to hit theaters in 2016.
Sky Italy continues to ramp up their original content by producing a new film, Monolith, an adaptation of the graphic novel.
The production, led by Lock and Valentine, marks an important collaboration with comic book publisher Sergio Bonelli Editore, which also publishes the popular Dylan Dog and Orphans series. The film will hit theaters in 2016.
Monolith is adapted from the new graphic novel by Roberto Recchioni and Mauro Uzzeo and designed by Lorenzo LRNZ Ceccotti. The film is written by Uzzeo, Elena Bucaccio, Stefano Sardo and Ivan Silvestrini, who will also direct.
The movie will feature an international cast of actors. The story follows a woman in a race against time to find an impossible solution to rescue what she loves.
Sky Italy has continued to announce original content this year, from high-tech art films like Florence and the Uffizi Gallery 3D/4K to original series such as 1992.
The movie is a co-production of Sky Italy, Lock and Valentine, and Sergio Bonelli Editore.
