Skydance Television has tapped Sony Pictures Television veteran Jake Rose as head of production.
In the newly created position of executive vp production, Rose will be responsible for overseeing all comedies, dramas, limited series and miniseries. He will report to Marcy Ross, president of Skydance Television.
"I couldn't ask for a more creative, collaborative partner than Jake,” said Ross. “I look forward to seeing all of our wonderful projects come to life!"
Added David Ellison, CEO of Skydance Productions: "His extensive experience in the television space will be a great addition to our company and is exactly what we need to continue Skydance’s growth.”
Rose was most recently head of production for Sony Pictures Television's movies, minis and limited series division, spending more than a decade in the post. Among the projects he oversaw were Hatfields & McCoys, Coma, Steel Magnolias and The Company.
Prior to joining Sony, Rose led independent film/TV production company Skylark Entertainment, where he produced Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, Election, Street Fighter and the Marilyn Monroe miniseries Blonde. He has also worked at Walt Disney Studios and CBC.
Skydance Television is in production on its first series, WGN America's Manhattan, which will premiere in July.
