Snoop Dogg Records Title Track for 'Weed Wars' (Audio)
Discovery's series looking at the world of medicinal cannabis premieres Dec. 1.
Who better to record the title track for a show about medicinal cannabis than Snoop Dogg?
Discovery’s Weed Wars, a show looking into the world of medical marijuana, will feature a rap song by Snoop, a long-time marijuana advocate.
“I got to have it in my life because it’s the only thing I need, I need it in my life,” Snoop raps on the track.

“It’s the medicine from the medicine man,” he continues. “These are the brothers who be fighting the weed wars.”
Weed Wars follows Oakland’s Harborside Health Center, the nation’s largest medicinal cannabis dispensary serving over 94,000 patients. The series introduces the Harborside staff as well as the growers and “patient farmers” whose job it is to provide the “medicine” – the buds – that will be eventually purchased and used by thousands of clients.
“Weed Wars fearlessly pulls back the curtain on a once illegal and still controversial world,” said Nancy Daniels, executive vice president of production and development for Discovery Channel. “From the inner workings of the business to Steve’s distinctive leadership style, Weed Wars is a fascinating glimpse into this highly unique setting,”

Snoop Dogg is busy with other projects as well. The rapper will team up with Wiz Khalifa for a collaborative film project titles Mac and Devin Go To High School. Due in December, the duo will precede the movie with a soundtrack by the same name.
