#SocialGathering: Channing Tatum Has Dance Party in a Gas Station; Salma Hayek Cooks for Ryan Reynolds
And hypebeasts relax — Supreme isn't moving off Fairfax.
Can't keep up with what's been going on in the social media world? Fret not. Here, a gathering of what stars, artists and brands have been up to this week on social media.
Salma Hayek Cooks for Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively
Salma Hayek recently went over for dinner at The Hitman’s Bodyguard co-star Ryan Reynolds’ home, and she got right in the kitchen, holding baby Ines while Dad clapped for her attention. What’s (almost) equally impressive is Blake Lively’s megakitchen and Mauviel copper pot.
The Beckhams Hit the Modern Family Set
The entire Beckham family visited the set of Modern Family this week — and snapped a photo to prove it. Harper, 6, has had the coolest summer ever — her princess-themed birthday party took place at Buckingham Palace, after all. Cruz, 12, wore a custom hat by L.A. designer Nick Fouquet. Romeo, 14, continues to kill the teen style game and rocked an on-trend Ikea shirt. The Swedish home-goods store is racking up the cool points after announcing a collaboration with Off-White's Virgil Abloh, launching in 2019. The eldest Beckham child, Brooklyn, 18, had a transitional summer, publishing his first book, What I See, in June and telling W magazine he plans to move to New York to develop his photography skills.
The Supreme Store Isn’t Moving
Thursday evening, the hypebeasts of social media started to rumble that skate brand Supreme was closing its Los Angeles store, the location that put Fairfax Avenue on the map as streetwear central. The popular website Highsnobiety reported the store was closing per a sign on the door. But it turned out to be a false alarm. According to multiple sources (and a straightforward sign posted on the front door), the Supreme store is only closed because it's getting new merchandise. It will reopen mid-August.
Channing Tatum’s Supremely Awesome Road Trip
If you don’t “like” Channing Tatum on Facebook, please do so now — you’re welcome. The Magic Mike actor is currently on a cross-country road trip with a friend and is posting Facebook Live videos throughout. On Tuesday, Tatum took his followers inside a gas station, where he wanted "coffee and a candy bar" (a Starbucks Frappuccino drink and king-sized Reese's Sticks, as it turns out). He quickly made friends with Beatrice, a store employee, and the rest is Facebook Live video magic. The pair danced to Nas featuring Lauryn Hill's "If I Ruled the World." #Goals.
