#SocialGathering: Sarah Palin Gets Slammed by Twitter Users; Sarah Jessica Parker's 'Hello, Dolly' Stroll

Both Sarahs had a very different week.

Can't keep up with what's been going on in the social media world? Fret not. Here, a gathering of what stars, artists and brands have been up to this week on social media.

Snark Is Cheap

Sarah Palin met with President Donald Trump Thursday at the White House wearing a white, cold-shoulder crochet top, and Twitter users erupted into debate that reeked of the sexist double standard that still exists in the social media conversation, even as feminism is trending. Insulting women on either side of the aisle about what they are wearing, their haircut or their weight is cheap, and unfortunately, critics have been chiming in since the days of Jacqueline Kennedy's "overspending," Nancy Regan's reported bulimia and Bill Clinton press secretary Dee Dee Myers' weight.

But maybe there's hope: A small fraction of Twitter users challenged D.C.’s notoriously patriarchal fashion norms. They also pointed out that Goldie Hawn wore a similar look in colbalt blue made by Roberto Cavalli to the premiere of Snatched.

Hello, Dolly!

Sarah Jessica Parker posted a commercialworthy twirl and whirl on Instagram, filmed by Bravo’s Andy Cohen, while the pair was on their way to the opening night of Hello, Dolly! in New York City. Andrew Rannells sat in the front row and told THR "it was like gay Christmas." Sarah Paulson, Greta Gerwig, Matthew Broderick and Jonah Hill also were in attendance.

Pete Souza Shoots More Shade

Photographer Pete Souza’s elegant touch on Instagram continues to delicately educate followers worldwide about the differences between the Obama and Trump presidencies. The motley crew that showed up at the White House and mocked Hillary Clinton's official portrait as first lady should follow Souza for some tips on decorum at the White House.

The Eva Chen Pose Explains It All

Eva Chen, Instagram’s head of fashion partnerships, is back with her signature taxicab pose — a piece of fruit carefully perched on top of the latest "It" bag, crossed legs on the opposite seat, rocking the latest chic footwear. She posted a photo to Instagram with a new accessory this time: a can of LaCroix, which Chen admitted to mispronouncing (it's pronounced “La Croy,” not like Christian Lacroix). Easy mistake — The Path actress Michelle Monaghan commented that she, too, incorrectly pronounces the brand.

Snark is Cheap

Sarah Palin met with President Trump in a white, shoulder less crochet top. Twitter users erupted into debate that reeked of the 2008 campaign trail: Is Sarah Palin a slut or isn’t she? Insulting women on either side of the aisle about what they are wearing, haircut, weight and more is a cheap Washington pot shot that critics have been making since the days of Jacqueline Kennedy's "overspending", Nancy Regan's reported bulimia, or Clinton's former Press Secretary Dee Dee Myer's weight.

It’s worth noting Palin wore the same top in black the same day on CNN with Jake Tapper. There's is hope: a small fraction of twitter users challenged D.C.’s notoriously patriarchal fashion norms seems to match perfectly with the new Feminism trend everyone is wearing.

It doesn't seem the trend is dead in the water, Goldie Hawn wore a similar cut top in dress form to the premiere of TK in TK.

Pop & Suki Party

Handbag-designer duo Poppy Jamie and Suki Waterhouse debuted new colors (violet, light blue and white) for their namesake handbag collection ($195-$255), Pop & Suki, at the Sunset Tower Hotel over libations with friends. Rob Pattinson, Hari Nef and Paris Hilton feted the upcoming release of the designer duo’s upcoming untitled short film, made in collaboration with Kodak film. The Thelma and Louise-inspired film touches on their love of adventure, travel and living life to the fullest. "We love Kodak because they allowed us to shoot on Super 8 film, and we have this amazing pastel Cadillac," Jamie tells Pret-a-Reporter. "It's a fashion film, an edgier, darker storyline." The release date for the film has not yet been revealed.
