Sofia Vergara Out-Earns Kim Kardashian as Highest Paid TV Star
With endorsement deals in English and Spanish and a Kmart clothing line, the "Modern Family" actress made an estimated $19 million in the last year.
Sofia Vergara has much to celebrate these days.
The Modern Family actress recently rang in her 40th birthday with friends and family with a lavish Mexican getaway, where longtime boyfriend Nick Loeb is believed to have proposed, and now Forbes has named her the top earning television actress of the past year.

In the mag’s newly released list, Vergara tops Kim Kardashian, Eva Longoria, Bethenny Frankel, Khloe Kardashian Odom and Tina Fey as the highest paid actress currently seen on the small screen. Forbes estimates that Vergara pulled in $19 million from May 2011 to May 2012 due in large part to a seven-figure advance from her Kmart clothing line (to the tune of $7 million dollars by the end of 2012), English endorsement deals with Cover Girl and Diet Pepsi, as well as Spanish endorsement deals with Burger King, Comcast and State Farm (amounting to a staggering $12 million). The Colombia native also serves as one half of the management company Latin World Entertainment, securing her status as a rising entertainment mogul, too.

Vergara bested reality star Kardashian by a mere $1 million, with the latter earning an estimated $18 million over the same time frame – which happened to include a $10 million wedding special on E!. Like Vergara, Kardashian also dabbles in fashion with a cost-conscious clothing line through SEARS, which she designs alongside her sisters Kourtney and Khloe. The trio also recently opened a new location of their family boutique, DASH, as well as a specialty store in Las Vegas’ Mirage hotel called Kardashian Khaos.
And on the TV front, the Kardashian family signed a $30 million deal with E! to continue their smash hit series for another three seasons.
