Sonnenfeld on 'Hackett' job

Barry Sonnenfeld has come aboard to direct Fox's comedy pilot "Hackett."

The single-camera project, from Sony Pictures TV and 25 C Prods., centers on a bad-boy literary luminary who escapes his disgraced career teaching at Yale only to find himself among the ultra-PC ranks of teachers at an Ohio public high school.

It has been a busy development season for Sonnenfeld. He is directing two pilots, "Hackett" and the ABC/Warner Bros. TV detective drama/fairy tale "Pushing Daisies."
