Barry Sonnenfeld has come aboard to direct Fox's comedy pilot "Hatchett."

The single-camera project, from Sony Pictures TV and 25 C Prods., centers on a bad-boy literary luminary who escapes his disgraced career teaching at Yale only to find himself among the ultra-PC ranks of teachers at an Ohio public high school.

It has been a busy development season for Sonnenfeld. He is directing two pilots, "Hatchett" and the ABC/Warner Bros. TV detective drama/fairy tale "Pushing Daisies."

Additionally, he co-wrote and is executive producing with Tom Fontana the NBC drama pilot "M.O.N.Y." Spike Lee is directing the project, which stars Bobby Cannavale as an everyman who unexpectedly becomes the mayor of New York.
